IACE (International Association for Cultural Exchange) Travel was established in New York to offer low-priced air tickets for Japanese people living in the Unites States to go home. At the time of our inauguration, airline tickets were costly even in the United States; thus “homecoming” was a luxury which not many Japanese people living in the States could afford. This was the beginning of our business as a travel agent; we started to offer discount air tickets by means of chartered flights.
